Quality CVD is slow: 50–70 µm/h (RU2253705C1) or 127 µm/h laser-quality (ADA042147, 0.005 in/h). Faster deposition is how scatter and absorption rise. 30 mm at 50 µm/h is ~25 days furnace-on.
Published chemistry. Heat-up, cool-down and grind are extra.
Published quality rate (slow first)
Default 50 µm/h: 30 mm ≈ 600 h (~25 days) furnace-on. 60 µm/h ≈ 21 days. 127 µm/h ≈ 10 days. Literature rates, not a quoted lead time. KM max Dia 800 × 30 mm T.

After the run: grind, water-jet (SMTY min. +1.5 mm) and core. Florida quotes inspected KM parts.
n = 2.403 at 10.6 µm (KM datasheet). Uncoated Fresnel loss ≈ 17% per face. That is why CO2 resonators specify AR — and why laser grade is the 10.6 µm absorption number, not the color of the disc.
